Our Journey

In the small town of Stanger, located 60km north of Durban, the Superb Hyper story began in 1974 when Mr. A.B. Mangerah, affectionately known as Baker, purchased the behind-the-counter family business from his father. Driven by integrity and a vision for growth, the business evolved over the years:

1980 – Transformed into a self-service supermarket under the name Stanger Supermarket.
1985 – Relocated to its current premises at 17 Smithers Road, KwaDukuza Stanger, rebranded as Superb Cash & Carry, focusing solely on wholesale.
1994 – Underwent a major expansion, reinforcing its role as a key player in the wholesale market.
2008 – Introduced a hybrid model, combining retail and wholesale under one roof to better serve both individual and bulk buyers.
2022 – Launched an online delivery platform for added convenience, making shopping easier than ever for our customers.
